Ao chegarem a Kattegat, Ragnar e os seus homens roubam e destroem um mosteiro. Recebidos alegremente, são carregados com espólios. Para se organizar e obter mais informações sobre a Inglaterra, Ragnar decide levar Athelstan, um monge com muitas informações sobre o reino da Nortúmbria. Após o sucesso notável do 1.º ataque, uma nova viagem para uma nova terra é autorizada pelo Conde Jarl Haraldson. Desta vez, Lagertha juntar-se-á à cavalaria.
